Woman Dies in Fire at NSW Central Coast Caravan Park

The Grey Nomad’s site has reported a woman has died in a caravan fire at a residential caravan park on the NSW Central Coast.  Unfortunately, a woman in her 50’s was found located inside the caravan.  Whilst, not a location that takes in regular travellers, it sends a stark reminder of the dangers of having fires around caravans.

The E.Home Caravan, A Self-Powered Camping Trailer

A German manufacturer of RVs has developed an e-home camping trailer. Equipped with two 40 kWh batteries and two electric motors each rated at 30 kW of continuous power (45 kW max). The batteries are contained within an inner frame, while an outer frame houses the inverter, charging unit, and control unit.

RV Parking Trial in Tatura, VIC heralded a success

Following a successful 12 month trial, Greater Shepparton City Council will continue to offer the free Recreational Vehicle (RV) Rest Stop in Tatura.  The 3 bay area, for fully-self-contained vehicles, offer a 48 hour time limit in the Douglas St car park.

Victorian Government Plans to Approve New Riverside Campsites

New Regulations governing recreation use of Crown land river frontages on up to 27 sites along Goulbourn, Broken, Ovens, Campaspe, Lodden and Murray river is about to be approved.  Camping could very well be allowed on suitable sites, providing a camping boon for the area.

New Campgrounds set to open at Litchfield, in the Top End

New campgrounds and swimming areas in the Northern Territory’s Litchfield National Park is opening, with the first of 3 new campgrounds providing 10 sites.  Including drop toilets and 4WD access,  the facilities make up a third of the $17.5 million Turbo Charing Tourism project.

QLD Minister Announces Upgrades to Qld Driver Rest Areas

A joint state and federal initiative to allocate $12.6 mission to Qld’s Driver Rest Areas has been announced.  Transport minister, Scott Bucholz has annouced the project that will provide better rest stops and increase capacity to encourage road users to stop and rest.
