We like to mix up our camping, so after staying out bush for a few nights, we decided it was time for some well-deserved luxury and that is exactly what we got when we pulled into one of Kui Parks latest editions at the Chinchilla Tourist Park.

We have stayed in quite a few caravan parks now, so this is a big call, but we would have to rate this as one of the cleanest and well-appointed parks we have stayed at.
Nothing is lacking at this park.
The first impression is how well presented and maintained it was. It is so well looked after and you can see the care that goes into maintaining the place. Each camping site has its own level pad and adjoining flat concrete slab, individual power and water outlets, with the added addition of a Foxtel point just outside your van. No need to set up the satellite dish here.

The amenities were nothing short of immaculate. Being fully self-contained, we rarely use the amenities blocks, but these were very inviting. Large spacious showers spotlessly clean and toilets that smelt fresh as you walked in. The laundry looks better than most industrial laundromats. No expense has been spared on the camp kitchens, with BBQ’s and well-appointed dining settings. It was like staying at a luxury resort but with your own bed.

A walk to the rear of the park opens up onto 3 acres of parkland which has been set aside as a dog running area which the owners actively encourage. We spoke to one very happy dog owner who stated, “They are actually Pet friendly here, not just Pet tolerant.”
There is a fenced dam which is stocked with Yabbies’, proof was in the pudding when the kids netted about 8 of them which made for a great Father’s Day breakfast. There is also a small golf putting green, a child’s swing set, BBQ setting and even a Gym which is free to use.

The dining room was something else also, seating 100 people, it is well appointed and each night, bar Saturday, they have an all you can eat buffet which is served. Breakfast is also served daily.

The cabins which surround the caravan park are equally as luxurious, and very competitively priced. Set aside the camping sites, they are ideal for catching up with friends or relies who perhaps don’t have a van but want to stay nearby and catch up for a while.
The extras continue with a large complementary water station with filtered water and ice dispensing unit. There is also a courtesy bus into town, and they provide two dump points and Gas Refills on site.
Barry and Sharyn own and operate the park and go out of their way to ensure all the guests are welcome and have everything they need. Their rates are flexible and they offer discounts for longer stays and Kui Park members.
Kui Parks have set themselves a standard with their parks, they must be Well Maintained, Welcoming, Clean & Good Value for money and this park certainly ticks all those boxes.
