History
Temora was first inhabited by the Wiradjuri people who lived simply and the same modesty was adapted by the first Europeans who settled in. Farming quickly became the main industry, with wheat and wool as the most popular produce. The town also has a rich history in the Railway and Aviation industries.

Temora is a well serviced town with all the supplies you will need, including two supermarkets, banks, medical facilities, loads of cafes and a wide array of lifestyle shopping. Exploring the CBD will allow you to discover more of the town’s heritage. There are biking or hiking trails in the nature reserves. The railway precinct is also a must-see, and the architecture gives a feeling of being a time traveller.

Aviation Museum
If you Love flying Temora is the place to be. Featuring its own Aerodrome and Aviation Museum, it also has the ideal conditions that make it perfect for Gliding and Hot Air Ballooning. The Aviation Museum is unique in that many of the aircraft in the collection are still airworthy and flown on a regular basis during twice monthly showcase days and an annual Major Airshow. Lake Centenary
Lake Centenary on the northern outskirts of town is a stunning lake offering a range of water activities for everyone. From power boating, water skiing, sailing, canoeing, fishing and swimming, to just taking the Lake Loop path and enjoying the sunset views. There is also a boat ramp to launch your own craft however the lake is sometimes closed for major events as it features a V8 Jetsprint boat racing course.

Step back in time to the 1920’s. Just 20 minutes west of Temora, this small village boasts wide peppercorn tree lined streets and a streetscape that has changed little since the village was a prosperous town in the 1920’s.

Canola Trail
Temora also boasts the stunning Canola trial which meanders through the countryside through charming towns and quite villages along the way. The Temora RV Muster
An event especially for the RV enthusiasts, the Temora RV Muster is held in April and offers a week of festivities for like-minded caravanners, campers and motor home enthusiasts. Is a month-long ‘menu of events’ during October each year, celebrating the year’s harvest, showcasing food, wine, beer and agricultural produce and experiences across the Riverina.
