The Lancelin South Caravan Park is getting an upgrade thanks to Shire of Gingin, while welcoming proclamations of interest to re-establish the site.
According to President David Roe, the Shire had selected interim managers since they assumed management of the site last October 1st, and had been undertaking improvements since.
“These include new fencing, tree lopping, signage, landscaping, boom gates and general maintenance such as lawn mowing,” he said.
“The Shire has already received positive feedback from tourists in relation to camping site accessibility as it continues to make more sites available for the forthcoming holiday season.
“The Shire is also exploring the possibility of incorporating a portable camp kitchen on site to further improve amenity.”
In partnership with Tourism WA, they invited EOIs for the park’s redevelopment which commenced October 28th. According to Councilor Roe the review of the first stage of submissions happened late October.
“It is hoped the Shire will be able to enter into negotiations with a suitably qualified and experienced company for the redevelopment prior to June 30, 2017,” he said.
