Ward River Campground is a free short term site, located west of Charleville just off the Diamantina Development Road. The area is suitable for caravans and camper trailers, however, it gets slippery in wet weather. It also advisable to be self-sufficient since there are no facilities at the site.
HOW TO GET THERE
The campsite is on the Diamantina Developmental Road west of Charleville, about 20 kilometres out of town take the old road turnoff to the right and after 700m turn right along the river.
SITE ACCESS
There is several hundred meters of river bank available for camping.

As this is a free camping area, we encourage you to keep it clean and please support the local community.
THINGS TO DO
Visitors will enjoy the 4W driving, bird watching, canoeing/kayaking, fishing, walking, and hiking.
