The Shed Cafe @ Rathlogan Grove

The Shed Cafe is situated at the foothills of Mt Maroon in the Scenic Rim District, only five minutes drive from Rathdowney. Owned and operated by the Cheevers family, The Shed Cafe and Gift Shop is definitely one of those ‘must visit’ places if you’re staying in the area or simply passing through on your travels.

The Shed Cafe sits on top of a hill on the grounds of the Rathlogan Grove olive orchard. You will drive through the Olive Groves up to the Cafe where you can relax and unwind with a delicious Merlo coffee, or some rustic country style food while enjoying the fresh air and spectacular mountain surroundings.

Open from 9am – 4pm Saturday, Sunday and most public holidays for Breakfast and Lunch as well as Morning and Afternoon Tea. The Cafe is fully licensed with an All Day Menu that serves everything from Fresh Scones, Cakes and Slices to Raisin Toast, Lambs Fry, Eggs Benedict, Hamburgers, Club Sandwiches, Fish and Chips, Salads, Hot and Cold Drinks and more including a kids menu and daily specials.

While you are there, why not take a wander through the fully stocked gift shop which sells everything you could imagine. Whether you’re looking for a souvenir, a gift for someone special, or you just want to browse through the range of Hats, Scarves, Bags, Clothes, Genuine Pearls, Homewares, Candles, Soaps, Tea Towels and much much more, you certainly wont be disappointed.

The Olive Grove was planted in 2002 and consists of 1200 fully matured trees. Early each season the olives are picked by hand and processed on site in the processing shed. The range of products are continually growing and include Rathlogan Grove Honey, Caramelised Balsamic Vinegar, Table Olives, Dukkah and First Cold Pressed Premium Extra Virgin Olive Oil. They also have Extra Virgin Olive Oil infused with herbs and spices that comes in 9 different flavours; Chilli, Garlic, Chilli & Garlic, Rosemary Sprig & Garlic, Lemon Pepper, Sun-dried Tomato & Garlic, Rosemary,Oregano & Basil, Cracked Pepper and Italian Delight.

Lou and Matt Cheevers offer free tastings of all their products every weekend between 9am – 4pm, so its the perfect opportunity to try them, like them and buy them to take with you on our travels.

HOW TO GET THERE
From Rathdowney take the Boonah-Rathdowney Road and after 7.9km turn right into Upper Logan Road and Rathlogan is only 50m.

SITE ACCESS
The gate is well signed and is wide enough for large RV’s. Follow the bitumen road for 600 metres to The Shed Cafe at the top of the hill. The road has some slight hills but is easily accessible by all vehicles. There is plenty of space and parking for caravans and RV’s
