Temora Aviation Museum

The award winning Temora Aviation Museum is home to a world-class flying collection of Australian ex-military aircraft. The museum encourages visitors to learn and be inspired by the role played by its collection of Australia’s historic ex-military aircraft and to acknowledge and remember the efforts of the men and women who flew and supported them during times of conflict.

Open from 10am to 4pm, 7 days a week, excluding New Years Day, Good Friday, Christmas Day and Boxing Day. You can explore the aircraft collection at your own pace with informative audio-visual presentations or take a guided tour with their knowledgeable volunteers. Acquaint yourself with the Museum’s history in the 38-seat surround sound theatre, watch engineers at work from the viewing gallery, browse the specialty souvenir gift shop with themed merchandise where you can grab yourself and snacks and a drink. You are welcome to bring your own picnic and sit back and relax in the landscaped gardens while the kids enjoy the aviation themed children’s playground.

AIRCRAFT SHOWCASE – Flying Displays

Get closer to the action as you witness a themed selection of Australia’s ex-military flying history come alive. The Aircraft Showcase delivers a full day of entertainment for all generations. Watch flying displays as they demonstrate the aircraft’s capabilities, enjoy Informative commentary and music, Interviews with pilots and veterans, the Engineering workshop tour, meet and greet the pilots and for the kids there are children’s activities and playground. Grab yourself a bite to eat in the Mess Hall that serves barista coffee, freshly cooked food and a selection of hot and cold refreshments.

The Aircraft Showcase Flying Displays are conducted by the Temora Historic Flight Club (THFC) and are only held on selected dates which are available on the website or phone the museum.  All tickets are available at the museum entrance, although Aircraft Showcase tickets (only) can be purchased online

So for travellers who would like to take a step back in time, why not visit the Temora Aviation Museum which is only a short stroll or drive if you are camping at the Temora Airfield Tourist Park, the local Showground, the Railway Station Free Camp or another local park.

HOW TO GET THERE
If approaching from the North on Goldfields Way, take Airport Street on your right, then look for Tom Moon Ave about 1.3km on your right.  If approaching from the South, Kitchener road runs into Airport Street, then Tom Moon Ave is on your left about 2km north of town.

SITE ACCESS
Car parking is available in the large car park at the front of Museum and is suitable for Caravans, Motorhomes and Larger Vehicles.
