Outback Pioneers Experiences are available from April through to October, (closed November to March). If you’re caravanning or travelling, it’s well worth adding Longreach to your must see itinerary. Driving there in a motorhome or towing a van shouldn’t be a problem as the roads are good and you don’t need a 4WD. If you don’t want to drive or your not out and about in open season, you can always fly, take a bus or take the train.

The Activities and Experiences are packed with entertainment, adventure and excitement and are something you will always remember about outback Queensland. There’s nothing tame about pioneer life, from galloping in a Cobb & Co Stagecoach to bush poetry around the campfire, you can step back in time into the shoes of the pioneers who helped make Australia what it is today. The way of life here is uniquely Australian and is an iconic part of Australia’s story. It’s inspiring. It’s entertaining. It’s adventurous. It’s quirky.

The Welcome Home Café, Tearoom and Stonegrill® – Entry from the Outback Pioneers Booking Office. The perfect place to stop for coffee, lunch or some home-baked outback treats in the renovated heritage surroundings of what was originally the Welcome Home Hotel.

The Stonegrill® – Cook your meal the way you like it, with a hot stone at your table. Enjoy a choice of meat or fish, served with your selection of sides and sauces. Followed by the all-you-can-eat dessert bar of traditional treats.

Café opening hours are Mon – Fri 8:00am – 3:00pm from April to October.
Stonegrill® is open Tuesday, Thursday and Friday evenings from 6pm.
Café and Stonegrill® are closed from November to March.

The Station Store
Kinnon & Co’s The Station Store is based on the original outback emporiums that stocked everything and were a highlight for station folk coming into town for shopping. The historic building, dates back to the 1880’s, and is stocked full of outback clothing, gifts, homewares, crafts and souvenirs and more which you can also purchase online.

Opening Hours are Mon – Fri – 8.30am – 5:00pm, Saturdays – 9:00am – 12:00pm.

HOW TO GET THERE
The booking office is located in Eagle Street which is the main street through Longreach.
At the ‘Heritage’ end of Eagle Street, heading towards Winton look out for Outback Pioneers signage on the front of the building.

SITE ACCESS
There is ample street parking for all vehicles and RV’s.
