Situated on the Noosa River, Noosa Fishing and Crab Adventures offers tours on the river between Noosa Heads and Lake Cootharaba. The half-day tours are available both morning and afternoon and are suitable for novice and experienced anglers alike and make a great day out for the family.

The tour provides the opportunity to fish for species such as bream, flathead, mangrove jack, trevally and whiting, as well as pull up some crab pots for their catch of blue swimmer or Queensland mud crabs, which are then cooked on the boat for you. The tour is led by an experienced guide aboard the Jay-lea, a 7-metre punt that can carry up to 10 people, and includes lunch and drinks, fishing gear, all-weather jackets and fishing tips if needed. Jay-lea has a casting platform, toilets and a full-length canopy to protect from the weather, and its flat bottom and shallow draft means that it can get to parts of the river that other boats may not be able to access.

The Jay-lea is also available for private charters of 2 or 3 hours that can be personalised to suit your wishes. Or if you prefer to hire a boat that you can drive yourself, the team at Noosa Fishing and Crab Adventures also operates O Boat Hire from the same Noosaville location.

HOW TO GET THERE
Gympie Terrace runs beside the river through Noosaville. Noosa Fishing and Crab Adventures start from O Boat Hire, which is located between the tennis court and public toilets in Ely Park.

SITE ACCESS
Access is via a short pathway from Gympie Terrace. There is a parking area near the boat ramp just west of Noosa Fishing and Crab Adventures (at the other end of the tennis court; enter via the roundabout). There is also parallel parking along Gympie Terrace. There may or may not be space for caravans and motorhomes. If driving a large vehicle you may need to park elsewhere.
