This is a very popular campground on the banks of the Burdekin River. It is very spacious, but not a lot of shade and some level sites. There is an amenities block with cold water showers.
HOW TO GET THERE
Macrossan Park is 116km West of Townsville or 23km East of Charters Towers on the Flinders highway; turn off into Fanning Downs Road 400m East of the Burdekin River bridge.
SITE ACCESS
800m from the highway turn right into the park access road (gravel), the camping area is about 700m along the river bank.
