Eliot Falls camping area is nestled in woodland between Canal and Eliot creeks, close to the famed scenic Eliot and Twin falls, this popular camping area is an oasis for travellers. The camping area can only be reached by four-wheel-drive vehicles and off-road campervans and camper trailers. It is not accessible for caravans or conventional buses.
Number of sites: 31 numbered sites consisting of 16 tent sites, nine sites suitable for off-road campervans or camper trailers and six commercial operator sites.
Camp sites are suitable for: tents, campervans or camper trailers. Separate areas for commercial operators are provided. Car parking is provided adjacent to each site.
Camp site surface: dirt.

SITE ACCESS
The camp site is close to the northern boundary of Heathlands Regional Park, at the joining of Canal and Eliot creeks. To access Eliot and Fruit Bat falls from Bramwell Junction, follow the Southern Bypass Road for 119 km and turn onto the Telegraph Road. Drive 3 km to Fruit Bat Falls and a further 7 km to Eliot Falls. An alternative (rougher) route to Eliot Falls follows the Telegraph Road from Bramwell Junction.
From Cairns, drive north-west to the Peninsula Developmental Road, the main road to Cape York Peninsula. Follow the Peninsula Developmental Road 50 km north from Coen and turn on to the Telegraph Road. Drive 40 km north of the Wenlock River to Bramwell Junction and cross on to the Southern Bypass Road.

Please note: GPS Coordinates are approximate and provided in most cases to get you to the entrance. Once inside the park there should be signs to the actual camp grounds. Failing this please check with National Parks for further directions.

FEES & BOOKINGS
Camping permits are required and fees apply. A camping tag with your booking number must be displayed at your campsite. Book in advance.
Fees for camping permits are:
$6.55 per person per night, or $26.20 per family per night;
$3.60 per person per night for students and accompanying adults on approved educational excursions.
FAMILY RATE. For camping fees, a family group is defined as one or two adults and accompanying children under 18, up to a total of 8 people. Children under 5 years of age are free.

Drinking water, hybrid toilets, picnic tables and individual fire rings.

RULES
Keep to defined vehicle tracks and walking trails.
Camp in designated areas to avoid damage to fragile vegetation.
Take rubbish home with you – if you carry it in, carry it out.
