The Apple Tree Cree Hotel is known as “The Home of Frog’s Hollow Bike Show”. This historic hotel never runs out of cold beer, great food and has a friendly atmosphere – it’s your local! You’ll definitely have fun as there is free camping just behind the hotel with hot showers. Events are also being held every now and then, so you can say it’s really an awesome place!
HOW TO GET THERE
It is located around 6km from Childers, a 5 minute drive. Head west on National Highway A1 and the hotel is on the left.
SITE ACCESS
This site is along the Bruce Highway, at the junction of Duguid Road. You’ll see their roof with a signage and a bike right beside it. Entrance to the camping ground is on the left side of the hotel.
FEES & BOOKINGS
There is no charge to camp at this location, but they would appreciate your patronage.
THINGS TO DO
You can visit the historical site of Apple Tree Creek War Memorial or you can explore and see Australian native, Asiatic and South American Birds fly overhead at the Flying High Bird Sanctuary which is a short walk.
