Located between Albany and Esperance, in the small rural town of Wellstead WA, is the Wellstead Bush Park where you will see views of the Stirling Ranges along with beautiful sunrises and magical sunsets. Wellstead Bush Park provides 30 acres of spacious campground and is the perfect spot to base yourself while you explore everything the surrounding area has to offer.

Wellstead locals Rob and Carolyn Davy, opened up their property on the South Coast Highway about 4 years ago for travellers who are tent campers right through to those with big rigs. They also have a one bedroom, fully self contained cabin available if you want a night out of the tent or van.

The pet friendly campground offers 8 level gravel powered sites, large drive through site’s if you don’t want to unhitch the van. Grassed areas for tents with lots of room for large groups. There is a large communal fire pit for campers or you are free to use your own setup when there are no fire restrictions.

The facilities are clean and well maintained including a Kitchen, BBQ’s, toilets, showers, a washing machine for a small cost, clothes line, outside sink and a tub in one of the amenity blocks. There is a playground and dump point with a fresh water tap situated behind the Community Resource Centre. BYO drinking water is advised or there is drinking water (town water) available near the dump point behind the centre.

When you arrive, just choose your site and someone will be around to see you after 5pm. Alternatively, for those who arrive late, there is an Honesty Box at the back of the Notice board in front of the small ablution block.

The Rural Services/Store is close by and cater for travellers with fuel, take away or sit down food, groceries and liquor. They are open 7 days a week from 6:00am to 7:00pm. The Whisper Coffee Shop, run by local volunteers, has yummy home made cakes and good quality coffee with all proceeds going back into the community to fund projects. For other services you may need, City of Albany is 100km and Jerramungup a small town is 90km from the park.
