Offering a spacious rural country atmosphere.
Toowoomba is a great place to visit with so much to see and do and the showgrounds are a great place to base yourself as you take in all that the Darling Downs has to offer.
Caravanning at the Showgrounds is easy, there is plenty of space and a lovely vista to take in the rural country atmosphere and breathe in the clean mountain air.
Only 15min from the Toowoomba CBD and set in natural bushland, the picturesque campground is a lovely spot to get away from it all. It’s pet friendly with hot showers and power and water available. All sites are spacious as are the surrounds and overlook the main arena and showground village, it’s a great place to have a stroll around. Tents are allowed but strictly for one night only.
The showground is an expansive area and there are different sections in which to camp. It is such a unique place to stay and is steeped in the history of Toowoomba, so while you are there, why not visit some of the onsite historical venues like the Equine Hall of Fame.
Bookings are not necessary, however it is best to check, as the showgrounds are closed at certain times during the year for events and the annual show.
Please note: the Showgrounds are locked in the evenings for security reasons so please ring ahead for more information.

Very disappointed, no garbage bins, water disconnected by ground staff, amenities very poor,
Could not recommend
FRC have contacted the Showgrounds in relation to the comment above. It appears the rubbish removal issue was part of a hire agreement of the grounds by a private organisation and rubbish removal was not included. In relation to the water disconnection, this was due to a large number of major arrivals. It was only temporary and we have been advised it does not affect the general camping area. The amenities block was painted only 2 weeks prior and cleaned twice daily, however can get messy in-between especially when open for events as was the case in this situation.
