Rocky Point Retreat is a family owned campground run by Kati & Darren Rasmussen. The waterfront camping area is a part of the 250 acre rural property “Rocky Point” which is located on the southern bank of Baffle Creek at Winfield approx. 63km north of Bundaberg.

Rocky Point Retreat has been awarded the 2019 Tourism Business Of The Year by the Bundaberg and District Chamber of Commerce and identified as one of Tourism and Events Queensland’s 2019 Best of Queensland Experiences.

The campground is perfectly suited to campers with either caravan, RVs, camping trailers, and tents who are looking for an affordable, peaceful and safe relaxing holiday experience while fishing or exploring the pristine estuary system of Baffle Creek.

The 16 acre camping area is level, grassed, and has 370 meters of Baffle Creek frontage which comfortably accommodates 21 waterfront sites plus 5 powered sites. Bore water taps are on all sites and a dump point is conveniently positioned at the entry gate. There is a 40 meter non-camping buffer zone along the river which allows all campers to enjoy the waterfront views.

Large family groups, caravan/motor home, and fishing clubs can easily be accommodated and sited together. Our rates are charged per person, not per site or the size of your rig which makes it economical for those traveling alone or those who have large vans/motor homes that generally require 2 sites at other caravan parks. Check-in is from 10.30am and check-out is 10.00 am or as late as 4.00pm if your site is not required for that day.

Please note that we do not have any public or shared amenities. All campers & vehicles must be self-sufficient i.e. have their own shower and toilet facilities. Otherwise, you can hire our private ensuite or a private toilet from us. We do allow you to dump your grey water on the ground.

THINGS TO DO
Fishing is the major attraction at Baffle Creek and you can catch anything from Mangrove Jack, Flathead, Whiting, Bream, Moses Perch, Grunter, Estuary Cod, Trevally, Barramundi to mouthwatering mud crabs and beautifully sweet river prawns. The sites are adjacent to the Rocky Point Road concrete boat ramp which offers easy access to the pristine estuary at all tides.

The estuary and its tributaries are also perfectly suited for other activities such as kayaking, canoeing, sailing, water-skiing etc.

Rocky Point Retreat is only a few kilometers away from the ocean and lovely unspoiled beaches, perfect for a beach stroll or a fish off the bank. Deepwater access to the ocean offers the opportunity of serious deep sea fishing.

Native bushland along the esplanade provides a shaded area for socializing, great little walks along the creek and for bird-watching as the area offers an abundance of wildlife.
