Spend a little time in paradise at Paradise Valley Camping Park.

The campgrounds are set in the picturesque, hilly countryside on the banks of the Macalister River, the Gateway to the Alpine National Park.

Boasting fresh country air, an abundance of bird and wildlife along with peace and tranquillity makes Paradise Valley the ideal spot for the whole family to spend some one-on-one time with nature. You will enjoy swimming, canoeing, fishing, and other water fun in the river that flows through the property.

The campground is pet friendly and the sites are ‘free range’ style so you will be sure to find the perfect spot to set up. The large sites are nestled amongst the gum trees on the banks of the river and offer plenty of shade for tents and caravan camping right up to the biggest of rigs. Many of the sites follow the curve of the river, meaning you can wake up to the sounds of the wildlife, take a refreshing dip or watch the water while enjoying your morning cuppa.

There are only 12 powered sites available for those who want power, with all sites having easy access to the well-maintained amenities that include hot showers an outdoor sink, and an undercover BBQ area. There is also a dump point onsite, and ice, gas, and firewood are available for purchase from the main office.

New owners Steve and Cheryle Bourne, purchased the property 6 months ago and provide you with a friendly and relaxed atmosphere and everything you would want from a stay in the country. They also have cabins available if you want to catch up with family and friends who aren’t the avid camper, or if you’re looking for a comfortable place to rest away from the hustle and bustle. Cabins are situated opposite the river and sleep up to 4 and 5 people.

Paradise Valley is such a beautiful destination and you will love the wide open spaces where you can walk with the dog to the top of the hill and take in the amazing view of the surrounding countryside. The tranquillity is stunning and it’s the perfect place to enjoy the outdoors. A fun place for the children with lazy river rides along a man-made section and plenty of wildlife along the banks.

The campground is situated 20km away from Heyfield which offers an IGA Supermarket, fuel station, cafe, bakery, two pubs, two banks, and a post office. In the opposite direction, 30km from the grounds is Licola with a general store and picnic area and perfect for a day trip or stop off before adventuring out into the state forest.

HOW TO GET THERE
About 120kms east of Melbourne turn off at Glengarry or Rosedale and head towards Heyfield then North onto Licola Road. Follow Licola Road past Glenmaggie Nature Conservation Reserve on your left and Lake Glenmaggie on your right and veer right onto Glenmaggie Road at the cemetery. With the lake on your right, head along Glenmaggie Road and veer right onto Licola Road. Continue through Green Gully and after 1km turn right onto Gells Road and follow to the entrance of Paradise Valley Camping Park.
