Nobby Loves Grey Nomads! So much so they offer a free camp for motorhomes and caravans at the Old disused Railway Station.
It is a large flat piece of land opposite the famous Rudds’s Pub. It has some shade and is located in the heart of town so you can get to all the places to see on foot. At one end there are four power poles so you can hook up to power for a donation, or if you don’t need power you can stretch out down the southern end as there is plenty of room.
Nobby has been home to two prominent Australians, Steele Rudd, the creator of the Dad & Dave stories and Sister Kenny who played a big role in the way Polio was treated in the early 1900’s. Both are recognised in town at Rudds Pub & The Sister Kenny Memorial.
There is also a great little General Store which makes an outstanding coffee.
HOW TO GET THERE
It is situated in Nobby, 35kms from Toowoomba and only 2 hours from Brisbane. Coming from Toowoomba, take the New England Hwy/Ruthven St, continue on New England Hwy to Nobby Connection Rd, turn left at the end then make a U-turn over the railway and the Pub is on the left.
FEES & BOOKINGS
There is no charge to camp at this location if you don’t require power, but they would appreciate your support around the town. If you do wish to use the power, they ask for a donation to be placed in the donation box at the side entrance to the Craft Shop.
