Nomads Rest is set on a 6 acre private property offering travellers spacious off grid camping or stay in the one bedroom self-contained unit. Situated east of Gympie on the way to Tin Can Bay, Nomads Rest is a relaxing place to base yourself while enjoying the local and surrounding area or if you need a safe secure stop off when heading south or north, to Rainbow Beach or Fraser Island.

The campground is grassed with plenty of shady areas or sunny spots for those who want to make use of their solar. There are absolutely no facilities at Nomads Rest, so campers must be fully self sufficient. Motorhomes, caravans, camper trailers, and tents are all welcome as are your furry pets but they but must be on a leash at all times. No matter where you set up in the beautifully maintained gardens you will have water views as there is a creek on one side and a large dam on the other.

There are fire pits provided and extra firewood can be purchased from the hosts who also have canoes (not for children under 12) and life jackets( limited sizes) if you want to make use of the creek or dam.

Your friendly hosts Rob and Evi Munn, have opened their property and welcome campers to the piece of paradise that they call home. Their beautiful garden offers nature at its best with plenty of birds and wildlife to keep your cameras snapping. Enjoy the kangaroos and wildlife that walk around the grounds, as well as the ducks on the dam, rosellas, guinea fowl, kookaburras, and kingfishers plus more, that call Nomads Rest home.

The Nomads Unit is a one bedroom self contained unit on the ground floor of the main residence. Linen is provided, Wi-Fi, a BBQ on the front porch, laundry facilities if staying more than two nights, and a fire pit by the creek. No pets when staying in the unit.

If you need any additional supplies, there is a convenience store, Hotel, and fuel just up the road and the well serviced CBD of Gympie is only 7kms from the property.

HOW TO GET THERE
The property is located on the east side of Gympie, approximately 4.5km from the city centre. There are many roads via the main town that will give access to the location, however, the most direct route from the south, if towing a caravan is possible via the main Tin Can Bay road, which runs directly off the Bruce Highway south of Gympie.
From the Bruce Highway, take Brisbane Road and follow until it becomes Tin Can Bay Road, about 6km from the Highway, turn into Ascot Road on your left, follow for about 1km, then left into Gympie Connection Road, the property entrance is approximately 300m on your right directly at the end of the S bend and road barrier

From the North, to divert the town area, turn into Fraser Road near the Woodworks Museum, follow this to Old Maryborough Road, turn right and follow this for about 4km and turn left into Bath Terrace, (which flows into Wolvi Road, then the Gympie Connection Road.) from this intersection travel about 2.4km and the property entrance will be on your left.

SITE ACCESS
Is directly off the Gympie Connection Road. The gateway has a timber fence on either side and a swinging gate and is clearly marked with the number (and light) it narrows slightly, stay to the right of the driveway and park next to the Palm tree and someone will meet you.
