MORE LISTINGS ADDED

We now have over 17,000 registered users on the Free Range Camping directory, and over the last month, we have added hundreds of more listings, including some Pubs that are offering camping. Our Help Out section has been well received and we currently have over 60 Help Out listings. Our help out section is for anyone that is in need of a helping hand, that in return can offer Free Range Camping Members a place to stay in exchange for a few hours help.

VOLUNTEERS

dinray2

Free Range Camping is a now a free online resource for travellers right around Australia. In our pursuit to find the widest range of camping options, with the most comprehensive information about them, we are now looking for Volunteers to assist us. Ideally we are looking for volunteers who are on the road full time and can contribute by visiting sites and ensuring our information is as accurate and up to date as possible. As we are still growing, this will initially be a non-paid volunteer position. If you feel you would like to assist us, please write to us at [email protected] and tell us more about yourself.

ON THE ROAD AGAIN

honky

Come the first of spring, we gave Honky a facelift and left the comforts of the Sunshine Coast for the outback. We have teamed up with Buy a Bale and supporting them with their Under the Stars campaign. We will be heading out west to Charleville, then up to Longreach and finally to Winton for their bi-annual festival. We will be stopping in on as many campsites as we can along the way, and hopefully finding a few more to add to the list. We will also be calling in on farmers along the way who have opened up their properties to welcome city folk allowing them an insight into life on country farms. For anyone wanting to stay on some outback farms, head on over to the Under The Stars site and find properties that welcome you to stay.

THE ADVENTURES OF TWO OLD CHOOKS

After getting their motorhome decorated with FRC logos, our Two Old Chooks hit the road on an express route to the Northern Territory. They stopped at a few iconic Queensland locations along the way, including Roma, Quilpie, Windorah and Longreach. You can find out more details about their trip in their blog post.

TOWN REVIEW - CHARLEVILLE, QLD

charleville-hotel
Our town review this month is in stark contrast to last month’s review at Rainbow Beach. This time we are having a look at the outback town of Charleville in QLD. As part of our Outback Under the Stars experience we have been venturing out west and discovering many small and unique towns. We were pleasantly surprised with Charleville and ended up spending a few extra days in the area just to see everything. There are plenty of places to stay, and as a major regional town for the area, it had quite a variety of shops, services and plenty of attractions to explore. For a full review of Charleville….

KUI PARKS REVIEW

kui-50-off

This month we are looking closer at a brand new chain of Caravan Parks – Kui Parks.

Kui Parks have a great new approach to selecting caravan parks in their chain. Listening to the needs of travellers, they have four key selection criteria.

Cleanliness, Friendliness, Well maintained & value for Money parks.

Their chain is growing fast with now over 50 caravan parks in their network right around Australia. We recently met the founders of Kui Parks and also stayed and reviewed two of their parks and we very impressed.

All the Kui Parks have recently been added to the Free Range Camping directory where you can find out more about each park and what it offers.

To celebrate the partnership with Free Range Camping, Kui Parks are offering all Free Range Camping members a MASSIVE 50% DISCOUNT off their membership rate for the next two weeks. This will allow you to save a further 10% when staying at Kui Parks. To read the full reviews and find out more click on the link below.

RAIN SAVER GUTTER

At the recent caravan show in Brisbane, we met Michael who is the inventor of the Rain Saver Gutter. Michael has designed and developed a fantastic product that allows your existing awning to be easily converted into a gutter serving two purposes. The gutter not only lets you divert water from pooling around the foot of your awning, but also lets you collect rainwater to fill your tanks. Ideal for those times you want to free camp longer. Michael has developed a range of kits to suit all size vans. He is also making an exclusive offer to all Free Range Camping members. If you purchase a kit during the month of October, Michael will be including $28 worth of extra products. To see the product in action and find out more about this special offer.......
